What Is The History Of Valhalla Boatworks?

The idea was born in the early 2000s. Don Gemmell, a member of Viking’s design team and a close friend of Viking CEO Patrick Healey, dreamt of developing a center console as refined and as powerful as a classic Viking yacht. But it wasn’t until 2019 that Gemmell’s long-held dream – also the dream of scores of owners and dealers – was finally realized. Since then, Valhalla Boatworks has been forging superb quality center console boats for enthusiasts and first-timers who crave impeccable craftsmanship, hardcore fishability, and profound comfort.

Drawing on Viking’s wealth of experience and employing the skills of the firm’s in-house design team, Valhalla offers a level of finish, comfort, and advanced technology rarely attained by typical center console builders. This elevated skillset can be easily discerned in the brand’s signature V-Series, a line of outboard-powered deep-V monohulls, whose stepped-V ventilated tunnels reduce drag and increase speed and fuel efficiency.

Valhalla Boatworks currently offers seven models, each part of the popular V-series. The smallest model is the V-28 Bay, a savvy craft built for hunting fish from coast to coast. Marketed as a tournament competitor, this is a lean, sportfishing machine with an aggressive but efficient profile. Another model of note is the V-29 Hybrid, a brutally efficient hardcore fishing center console that is as at home in shallow saltwater and inshore reefs as it is on the sandbar. Designed to dominate the tournament circuit and marina hop in equal measure, the V-29 Hybrid is a truly dual-purpose vessel. Valhalla’s latest flagship, the 55-foot V-55, is a genuine showstopper, an artful blend of blood-and-guts fishing capability and crowd-pleasing comfort.
