Iconic American builder Sailfish Boats has been leading the market with their beautiful, versatile, and dependable models since the brand was founded back in the early 1980s. Balancing fishing pragmatics, aerodynamic verve and a keen eye for style, Sailfish have evolved from humble origins to now produce some of America’s finest mid-market fishing boats. One of their most ambitious launches to date, 2023’s 312 CC takes the Sailfish story to another level. At 32-feet when fully rigged this is one of the largest models in the inventory, and features the kind of hi-tech innovation, fishing capabilities and laid-back creature comforts required to stand out from the pack and best your competition.

WHAT TO LOVE ABOUT THE DESIGN OF THE 312 CC
Sometimes the simplest things are the most beautiful. Take the sheer form of this boat, for instance. Sleek lines to stern, a flared bow pointing the way forward and an intuitive, walk-around deck combine to give this vessel a clean, uncomplicated and crowd-pleasing appearance. Yet the attention to detail here is anything but simple.
Primed to meet the challenges of open water cruising, the 312 CC features a remarkable sixth-generation Variable Degree Stepped hull design with three unique running surfaces. There’s plenty of lift as you accelerate, balance on the turn and a soft, dry ride as you vault the swells. A robust stringer system augmented by multi-layered fiberglass with Kevlar and lightweight carbon fiber, meanwhile, has the solid core needed to ride the rough seas and guarantee peace of mind. If you prefer to stick to those more placid feeding grounds then a 22-inch draft helps the boat glide across the seagrass and negotiate those hard-to-reach backwaters so that you can scour for mangrove snapper without damaging the hull bottom.
WHAT OTHER FEATURES FOR ANGLERS ARE ON BOARD?
For anglers, there are 29 rod-holders fitted as standard, ranging from flush fixtures in the gunwale, a hefty set of holders to transom and elevated rocket launchers aft of the hard-top roof. Dot Matrix non-skid decking and a self-bailing sole work in tandem with strategically placed grab-rails and padded coamings for intuitive and safe movement as you fish, while you can count on plenty of capacity, too. A pair of insulated fish-boxes in the bow and 2 circulating 30-gallon livewells with transparent lids and LED backlighting are joined by two more in-sole fish-boxes. There’s also a 55-quart cooler under the bow seating and another 21-quart cooler out on the swim platform to keep your drinks chilled, while recessed rod racks to starboard allow for easy access to your backup lines. A port-side lift-gate opens up quickly so that you can pull your catch aboard, while a transom gate to starboard leads to a swim platform with a boarding ladder.
Seating has been designed with recharging and recuperation in mind. There are two drop-down sofas in the cockpit that can be flipped back up in seconds when you need to kick into action, while up in the bow there is a two-seater daybed and a U-shaped seating lounge that can be utilized as a pair of decadent chaise-longues with backrests. A pair of ergonomic piloting seats facing the helm come with cushioned upholstery, arm-rests and bolsters for the perfect blend of easy comfort and practicality. The dash features next-generation facilities like dual-ram trim-tab switches, a high-speed compass, joystick handling, a Garmin display screen, Simrad VHF and digital or power-assisted steering as well as a Fusion stereo system linked to the boat’s integrated Rockford Fosgate speakers. There’s also a hidden head compartment built into the helm console with a sink, a faucet and an Electric Marine toilet.
A pair of chunky outboards hang to stern, ready to mount their high-speed assault. Choose between options like twin Mercury 400XXL Verado V10 motors, a pair of Suzuki DF350 engines or a double-set of Yamaha F350 outboards for plenty of raw power. Top speeds with premium engine packages should hit a 47-knot max, while at a cruising speed of around 25 knots you will enjoy a 372 nautical mile range before requiring a fuel top-up. Slip down to a mere 8 knots, meanwhile, to see this range expand to an incredible 433 nautical miles before you exhaust the 265-gallon fuel tank.
