Derrick brings extensive experience in marine systems and diesel mechanics to the Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales Service Team. Before joining JBYS, he served as Head Service Mechanic at Chicago Yacht Works, specializing in heavy diesel mechanical systems and leading key service operations. His background also includes time as a Port Engineer for Ozinga/Middle River Marine in Mokena, IL, where he managed voyage repairs, ensured U.S. Coast Guard compliance, and upheld strict safety and security standards.
Earlier in his career, Derrick worked with the Crowley’s Yacht Yard team in Chicago, leading a marine engineering crew and managing the maintenance and operation of all onboard systems across multiple vessels.
He holds multiple industry certifications, including Volvo, Mercruiser, and Yanmar. With a strong technical foundation, proven leadership skills, and a passion for the marine industry, Derrick is a valuable addition to the JBYS team.
